[/div] tearing love apart,
it was good to be back. while atty knew that her first night back in glenley after a long weekend with her brother probably should have been spent with ava or brad or any of her other friends or maybe even settling into her new apartment, how she really ended up spending it was at azul. yes, the club, bar, and restaurant was probably her favorite place in the entire world to be, a place where she spent most of her weekends even as a youth, the first bar she ever was able to use a fake ID to buy from. she was, no doubt, able to be considered a regular, even at the ripe age of just-barely twenty-one, and this fact was reinforced when she made her way through the doors alone and was with company that she actually knew by the time she made it to the bar. yes, other regulars flocked to her like they usually did, and for once in a long, long time, she found herself feeling accepted, especially as guys everywhere who had missed her company asked her to dance and bought her drinks.
yes, some might call her a bar skank, others an attention whore, but all atty really wanted that night was to feel at home. while in oregon, she had missed azul so much, it nearly hurt. there wasn't another club in town quite like it and though apollo had tried to show her a good time, going to gay bars with her brother wasn't exactly a great way to pick up guys or to make her feel welcome. so she had spent a lot of her time either at practice or studying, and even then nothing felt the same. in san glenley, she had the nice, quiet comfort of being accepted in the club. in oregon, she wasn't accepted anywhere unless it was just her and apollo, and even then, she found herself missing brad and her other friends more and more. lolo was great - he was. but he wasn't her best friend, and talking guys and dating and love with him was like pulling teeth. he was just as frivolous and careless as she when it came to dates, and talking to him made her feel like she was less and less likely to find the love that she eventually strived to acquire.
that was mostly her reasoning behind coming back - azul. azul and friends and the fact that brad insisted on talking to her every single day and made her miss all the good times. so she'd come back, said her hellos to her family, and then immediately went back, got 'dressed up', and left. it was her partying usual - a short skirt/sleeveless blouse combination that looked much like a dress with some heels that she thought went quite well with the whole ensemble. then she let herself get whisked away into her home, pushed between bodies of men she didn't know, drinking things she didn't know the names of and getting lost in the entire blissfulness of it all. by the time she stumbled back over to the bar, she was only half-aware of what was going on and definitely didn't know the names of the guys saying that they'd be right back. she told them she'd wait for them, but she had a feeling they had no intention of coming back and if she got bored, she had no intention of waiting. so instead of actually waiting on them, she turned to the bartender and said, "i think i need some water."

A DAYDREAM AWAY
normally, rivers hit up the bars every night. lately though he had gotten tired of seeing the same people every night. things like that didn't happen to him often, but when they did it often meant that the twenty two year old was in a funk. yeah that's right, even someone as awesome as rivers got into a funk. his conclusion? he either needed to find cooler people to hang out with or he needed to start going to a different bar. he loved all the people that hung out at his usual bar so he knew that his funk had nothing to do with them. he could stay there for hours just talking to the people at the bar getting to know all about them and their stories. he especially liked listening to the stories of the older bar patrons. they always told the best stories in his opinion. as much as it pained him though he decided to go to a different bar for the night. hell he might even get really crazy and go clubbing. he didn't do that all too often either. rivers wasn't much of a dancer, drunk or sober. anytime he went into a nightclub it was just to drink and pick up chicks. there was no way that you would ever find rivers on the dance floor trying to bust a move, it wasn't a pretty site and people often got hurt. rivers was much too white to know how to dance.
fixing his always messy hair to make it look perfectly messy, chicks loved the messy hair style, he grabbed his car keys and walked out the door of his small apartment that he shared with his best friend. sure things had been hard when rivers had first moved out to california but things had gotten better since he was sixteen. it was something that he was actually happy about. it gave him a chance to look back at his parents who were still living a crappy existence back home and say to himself and to them "i told you i could do it." it made him feel good about himself. being able to do that and say that to himself was just one of those little things that brought a smile to his face. rivers found that if he didn't have a reason to smile everyday he wasn't really living his life. he was one of those go with the flow type of guys. unless of course there was alcohol in his system, then that was a totally different story.
since his apartment wasn't that far from the nightclub and it was a nice night out rivers figured he would walk. it only took him a few minutes to get down there so it wasn't some big hassle for him. rivers walked up to the club and saw the long line of people waiting to get inside. he was too legit to wait on the line like a normal person so instead he walked straight up to the door. he may not have been the biggest fan of partying but that didn't mean that he lived under a rock the entire time that he had been living in california. thanks to his band and the small amount of local fame that they had acquired rivers was able to get past the security at most clubs and bars. it was a good thing too cause rivers was in no mood to wait on a line for who knows how long. nodding his head at the security guard at the door, he made his way through and could literally feel the stares of the people waiting on the line. shrugging his shoulders he made his way straight for the bar, not even stopping to look around and see if there was anyone that he knew around. as soon as he got to the bar he wasted no time in trying to figure out what he wanted to drink. "let me get a beer and a shot." looking over at a girl who was standing next to him he tilted his head to the side. rivers could tell what people were drinking without even having to smell what was in their cup. turning back to the bar tender he downed his shot like a pro. "pass over another beer for the pretty girl sipping on the water." yeah, rivers had swag, or at least he liked to think so.

[/div] tearing love apart,
she tried to keep herself to a system - if she wanted to avoid a killer hangover in the morning (and did she ever) she had to stop with the beer for a while and drink some water. it was a simple trick, but it helped, and she was a bit surprised that not a lot of people did it. drink two beers, drink a lot of water. let someone buy you a drink and then pick yourself up some water. it just helped with the whole dehydration factor and in the end, she didn't wake up feeling like someone had stuffed cotton balls in her mouth and then repeatedly hit her over the head with a baseball bat.
