to most people in glenley, california, stella constantine was a bit of a mystery. to be honest, that was the way she preferred it. after what had happened with jackson and kayla, she didn't trust anyone anymore except her little sister, jasey. stella didn't get close to anybody, and nobody got close to stella. she refused to let herself get hurt again like she had before. if that meant pushing people away when they got too close and having sex with random guys to keep herself satisfied, then so be it. who cared if other people frowned upon her ways? who cared if people thought she was a bitch for not letting any get inside her head? stella sure as hell didn't. she had never really cared about what other people thought of her to begin with. why should she start caring now? stella refused to answer to anyone. she was twenty-three years old, and on her own. stella loved being on her own. sure, being in a relationship had been great. but all of that... that wasn't worth the risk of the heartbreak she'd been through after finding out about kayla and jackson. that pain... that was something she never wanted to experience ever again in her life. if stella hadn't broken free from her past life and wasn't on her own, she wouldn't be where she was now. she wouldn't be staring in the mirror, dolling herself up. she had spent half an hour curling her hair, making sure every single curl laid just the way she wanted it to. made sure her nail polished wasn't chipped in the slightest, and that everything about her make-up was as close to flawless as it could be. sure, she was just taking a trip to a bar downtown but stella had appearances to keep up. her goal was to look as good as she possibly could whenever she went out in public. even at work. the girl exited her bathroom, humming quietly to herself as she grabbed her purse and headed out the door. the drive wasn't long; maybe ten minutes. she parked, and got out of her car, heading inside the bar. stella looked around, searching for any familiar faces. she licked her lips, walking towards the bar counter. stella lifted herself up onto one of the stools, smiling at the bartender and ordering herself a drink. like clockwork, it was placed on the counter in front of her. stella lifted the glass to her lips, taking a sip as she looked around the bar again, humming along to the music playing through the speakers. ******************************************* tagged for: rivers. outfit: le click.word count: four three six. notes: sorry this is kind of a crap starter, haha.
